Shipping FAQs
Get the answers to commonly asked questions about your shipment.
What should I have in my shipment?
You’ll receive your vial, syringes, and alcohol swabs. If anything is missing, please let us know right away. Your vial may be inside a foil pack—be sure to check all packaging carefully.
Is it okay if my ice pack has melted?
Ice packs may be included. It’s completely normal if they arrive melted, and the package may feel warm (or very cold in the winter).
How do I store my medication?
Do not freeze your medication. Store in the refrigerator when it arrives, preferably in the door or toward the front of your refrigerator—never in the freezer.
How do I know what dose to take?
Your dosing instructions will be in your medical chat with your provider, which you can access via your patient portal. Click here to log in and access MedChat. If you’re unsure about dosing, please call or text us at 866.971.5161 and we’d be happy to assist you.
Doses are measured in units (the numbers marked on your syringe), not milligrams. Your dose does not always equal the units you need to draw in your syringe. You can use our Dosage Calculator tool to determine how many units to inject based on the dosage you need to take, and the concentration written on your vial.
What is a BUD?
The Beyond Use Date (BUD) is the date after which a compounded medication should not be used.
How are Beyond Use Dates (BUD) being extended?
We want to assure you that our pharmacy partner adheres strictly to FDA requirements and industry standards regarding beyond-use dating (BUD) for compounded medications. In this case, the medication in question was subjected to stability and potency testing by an FDA-approved laboratory. The results confirmed that the medication remained safe and effective for up to 300 days from the date of compounding. Based on this validated data, the pharmacy that compounded the medication updated the BUD in compliance with FDA and regulatory requirements.
It is important to note that BUD dates are not arbitrarily extended—they are established either by default USP guidelines or by scientifically validated stability studies, such as the one conducted here. Because the study confirmed extended stability, the updated BUD is fully supported by laboratory evidence and regulatory standards. We take patient safety very seriously, and all compounded medications dispensed by our pharmacy are handled in accordance with applicable federal guidelines and testing requirements.
